In the fields wild and free there are enough crops for you and me. All the neighbors wears a smile and begs us to stay for a while. No bad news ever wanders even a whisper only goes down under.

Korean War 2, Part 12
Position Alfa, 75km SSE of Gwangju, Gyeonggi province. 0723 local; 1 May 1965. Conventional military wisdom tells you that no plan survives first contact with the enemy. Thus far, however, everything involved in Operation Olympia had gone as well as could be expected. It was a bad omen. General Westmoreland paced his field HQ at Position Alfa, waiting for bad news to filter through from the front. The US 8th Army, consisting of one reinforced US Army corps and three under-strength South Korean corps, had met heavy resistance in the centre but continued to grind inexorably forward. On his eastern flank, the Canadian Expeditionary Force had succeeded in destroying enemy communications hubs and pinning at least some of the lunatic “International Brigade” troops; while the Pakistani Reinforcement Corps on the western flank were engaging a depleted force that had apparently been stripped of men and equipment to reinforce the centre. Two things worried Westmoreland. Firstly, the

Why Men Hate RomComs
There are several videos making the rounds on YouTube. Some are of women (i.e. self-proclaimed feminists) asking "men" questions about why they do stuff. Another batch are of men answering these questions: usually with a title like 36 STUPID FEMINIST QUESTIONS ANSWERED. The above link is to a particularly fine example of the later. The narrator is highly rational and logical, albeit in a distinctly male centric way, but since he's giving his opinion as a man, what else would it be? I don't wish to look at all the questions, just the one suggested by my title: I believe this is the second question which is answered at the above link, so if you want to check out the video it should be pretty easy to find. For those who would rather read his pertinent response, the next section is a transcript of the question and his response. If you watched the video, or your not interested, feel free to skip ahead, for after that, I will follow up with some additional comments of my own. Why do
3.15.2023 He could scarcely believe it even still, as he stood at what seemed like a poor attempt at attention, as the review board appraised him. Sitting before him were two men approaching middle age and one woman whose gray betrayed a wizened age that was not at all evident in her actual demeanor. Despite the formal occasion which was ostensibly just an appraisal, the mood of a funeral wake hung around him like a pallor as every part of his body was given a thorough visual inspection by the review board. Despite the austere atmosphere that was present in the room, the furnishings were lavish; most parts of the arcology either used old hand-me-down furniture, polished not by varnish but by years of constant use. On the other hand, newer synthetic materials with a consistency and general cheapness akin to a school desk made en masse for an ungrateful student body were more commonly employed. If the room was well-furnished, he who was being reviewed was anything but, with little more
Cartoons and games were friends to me As a boy distant and lonely. One day I could put on a show. Which way will life turn as I grow? I wandered among the fanboys When still developing my voice. Techniques and tricks I sought to know. Which way will life turn as I grow? Yet often I saw fanboys quack And amass so much bric-a-brac. I must wonder what we all sow. Which way will life turn as I grow? We do all need color in life. The mind and heart need to take flight, Yet that scene is no longer aglow. Which way will life turn as I grow? How much longer can we look past Those who fear their lives have collapsed? To where should my dollars now flow? Which way will life turn as I grow? I dare not say fanboys are small. Market forces drain life from all. Seldom can we see earth below. Which way will life turn as I grow? With what should I now fill my eyes? I must learn now how to be wise. I watch the fluttering of crows. Which way will life turn as I grow? Now it is time to sing to
Part 1; The Unavoidable Catastrophe Chapter 1; Zondalo A long time ago, during times of dust and snow, on a far away planet, called Trenzalore, two siblings lay side by side, on an ancient stone older than any creature that once called this place home. All around them, children play; they were throwing snowballs, sledding down even snowier slopes, and on the most beautiful blue sleighs that either sibling had ever known. They would often join them, but together, with just one another, they would talk about things any passerbyer might deem strange; things such as alien planets, galactic wars, the tales of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table! They would go on and on for hours on end, without even catching a cold; with all the time they would spend talking, it was impossible to tell when it would end. Surely, these two were as close as they could be. But conversations can always have more than one kind of end. __________________________________ The planet Zondalo
